Terrific experience choosing and purchasing wall to wall carpeting for new home addition. Kathy Shahin, the hands-on owner, is an experienced professional, extremely helpful, and a pleasure to work with. She spent a great deal of time guiding us through a huge selection of carpets. She came to the house to take the measurements and outlined the specifics of installations (i.e. locating seams). She remained in touch with us while awaiting delivery from the production mill. Installation was perfect and included floor prep of the plywood subfloor left by the contractor. The number of seams was limited and are not at all visible. Installers cleaned up completely.

We had visited 3 or 4 other local carpet and flooring establishments in Northern Westchester and Connecticut. Service, selection, and pricing were the best by far at Westchester House and Home.

I recently used Westchester House and Home for almost complete floor remodel of my 4000+sq ft home. I was so confused when I walked into Westchester House and Home. I knew my floors needed to be replaced but had no idea what type of flooring I should be using and where. Kathy was so patient walking me through all the different options, their costs, durability, look, feel, etc., and helped me chose designs and products that would go together (carpet runners for stairs and area rugs on top of hardwood floor, inlay medallion in hardwood for entrance) - all within my budget. I am so pleased with choices we made and so grateful to have found Westchester House and Home. Their sales people are so knowledgable about all available options and the quality each product offers and so patient - I never felt pressured to make a choice quickly. Kathy came to my home, measured and gave me honest input as to what she thought would look best and where - I was given samples and plenty of time to make a decision (which took me over 3 weeks!). I could not be happier with the outcome and I have received so many compliments already - my home looks like a professional design team built it .

I walked into Westchester House and Home with a few ideas. I was so impressed with the showroom and the convenience of having everything available for your home all right here. I met with Kathy who helped me to pick the perfect carpet for my bedroom. I just love it. Kathy made it so easy and I highly recommend Westchester House and Home.

This review is long overdue. The reason I'm writing it now is because I am planning to go back again soon and give them repeat business without hesitation.

I moved into my current home over a year ago and needed to buy a large area rug to fit under my large sectional. Instead of a rug, I opted for carpet remnant because I have pets and find carpet to be much easier to clean and care for. Allen Carpet had good reviews and was nearby so I stopped in to check them out. I am so happy I did. I got a really nice, plushy carpet cut to the large size I needed (8.5 x 11 ft) and had the ends bound to make a beautiful area rug for my living room. The manager and I talked about several options for my needs and he got me the rug, padding and delivery included for a great price. When my friends come over, a few of them love sitting on the it - even if that means they're on the floor instead of my couch.

Dennis, the general manager, is the man!! He sat down with my wife and I, and explained everything from A-Z. He knows what's popular, what's quality, and even what is on Pinterest. He is extremely knowledgeable in carpeting and very friendly. Prices were good too!

I can't say enough great things about Dennis at Allen carpet. We went into the store and knew nothing about carpet and he took so much time to show us the quality/pricing difference in carpets and we are very picky. He also spent a lot of time with helping us find the plush carpet we were looking for on the budget that we needed.

Allen carpet was also the only store that actually honored the coupons we brought in every other store we went to had so much fine print that basically the coupons didn't help you in anyway. They were also the least exspensive out of the 6 stores we visited and we went to discount outlets as well. We wanted a very soft plush carpet with stain master in it and all the other stores comparable brands didn't even come close to comparing in the softness and then when we found the same brand at another store they were charging $300 more then allen.

Dennis made sure everything was rushed so we could get it as fast as possible and even honored the double thick padding before we had even asked that the coupon be applied. The only issue I had was with the main people(I guess its the warehouse or headquarters you deal with after you order) that deliver the carpet I forget her name, but she told me she would call the Friday before delivery for a time frame and she never did and I even called her on Friday and they said she was out to lunch and would call back but never did. In her defense though every other time I called she was very helpful and accommodating. I ended up calling Dennis that weekend and he was so helpful and made sure all my questions were answered. The installers were great as well. I would definitely use them again and again.
